See this story by the Union Tribune who accompanied us yesterday during the translocation of two burrowing owl pairs and one single mail to the San Diego Habitat Conservancy’s Ramona Grasslands Conservation Bank. This is a great rescue story and illustrates the importance of habitat management to conserve this iconic species in San Diego County. We will have more cattle at the Preseve next week to keep the grasses low and help our extant and new burrowing owls to successfully raise their families.
