My stay was March 21and 22. As a Wyndham member i choose the hotels i get points and deals. I had to go somewhere near my home and this place was just 10min away.

The room was clean in my opinion and the customer service was superb. Everyone from morning, afternoon and evening were great. Unfortunately some people that were staying at the hotel were not as respectful when they're smoking around the pool and outside their rooms.
Their breakfast wasn't the best but it's something. I would like to see warm food and different juices and other options of snacks. Overall i enjoyed the stay.

So upsetting to have my first ever horrible hotel experience.
My husband tried checking into our room with Rogelio. My husband gave Rogelio our confirmation # and my husband was told,"The room has already been checked out with that confirmation #." My husband tried working with Rogelio to problem shoot the situation. My husband explained our daughter was already checked into her room under a different confirmation #. He asked to confirm by giving Rogelio the second confirmation # but Rogelio said he couldn't confirm or deny that information.
I came into the situation after my husband said our room was already checked in to. I then began giving Rogelio all of my information as well as the confirmation #'s and such. Again Rogelio said our room was already checked out and their was nothing he could do. I tried at first to understand how our room was checked out and by who but he kept saying he couldn't confirm or deny any information. He kept going going in circles with me so I began to make phone calls to family members to make sure they had not checked in by accident or something. As I was about to make a fifth call around midnight he says,"Can I get the name of who made the reservation? Can I get your name? Your husband's name? Okay I just need to see your ID to confirm you are you...the name matches." At that point I had lost my patience because now all of a sudden he was willing and ready to give us our room (but how if he said it was already checked out?)!!! We got our room, went up and the room was not what we booked. Then the bathroom was under construction. The shower ceiling was exposed and all. I then went back down to the lobby to ask for a full refund and a cancellation and was told that they could not do the refund. They tried giving us a different room because they said they gave us the wrong room but after everything my husband and I were done. Worst experience ever! I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this location.

I would give it ZERO start if available!

My sister, her husband, and I visited a relative in Chula Vista and needed a hotel near their home. La Quinta In was it! Worst hotel I've EVER stayed in.

The room had a moldy/yaky smell, the elevator was not working and our suite was on the third floor, so we had to walk to the end of the building in order to use the elevator there (my brother in-law has difficulty walking so it was hard for him).

The furniture was (especially the sofas) were old and dirty, the bathtub was also dirty, and the water was difficult to adjust. The price for this low quality hotel was in my opinion too high (over $600.00 + 75 deposit that is supposed to be reimbursed (will see how long this takes!)). I should've read reviews before booked :(

The front desk employees were not bad, but neither helpful.

Will NEVER AGAIN STAY AT THIS PLACE, AND CERTAINLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

      Hopefully my review is posted!

I chose this place primarily for budget reasons as well as an online discount that I received for reserving the room on Hotels.com for a short stay during my two-week trip to San Diego back in June. This La Quinta Inn is located on Bonita Rd. just off Interstate 805 right behind a Denny's. The room available had a king-size bed and a decent size bathroom. There was no kitchen like some extended stay places have, just basically a microwave placed on top of a small compact fridge and a small coffee-maker with three packets of complimentary drip coffee. This was set up next to a large screen TV opposite the bed. The employees for the most part were very friendly and eager to answer any questions I had. However, there were a few issues that I was faced with during my stay, two that the hotel itself had no control over. The property behind the hotel across from my room had construction work going on every morning from Monday to Friday. The chance for sleeping in a little bit longer was nil except for the weekends when the crew was off. The work started around 7AM and it was difficult to go back to sleep with the amount of noise going on.
Being that I reserved the room a month in advance, there wasn't much I could do since none of the other rooms like mine were available at the time. Bad timing on my part. The other issues involving the hotel was the faulty cable TV service that prevented me from watching most of the channels that they had available. I called the maintenance person to check on this my first night I was there. He checked the connections and didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I asked if he could check with the service provider when he gets a chance. The following day, the cable came back on surprisingly. It was a pleasant surprise but a short-lived one. I thought the provider was notified by the employee, but it turned out that he hadn't had a chance to call them. With the cable back on, I told him it may have been a fluke thing, but then it went out again the following day. I called the employee back and he said he was going to get in touch with the provider as soon as he can. The cable issue was never resolved. I just gave up and decided to stick with my Hulu subscription on my laptop.
Regarding the bathroom, housekeeping does a good job providing bath towels and other toiletries when needed. The issues surrounding the bathroom are the bathtub and the wooden floors. The water pressure from the shower head is weak and comes out slower than usual and the wooden floors give off a moldy smell when they're wet from using the shower. I wanted to call the maintenance person on the shower head but I figured it would be of no use if he couldn't take care of the cable issue. The clientele is the second issue that the hotel can't control unfortunately. The hotel advertises itself as a family-friendly establishment, but the smell of weed and alcohol lingers in the hallways where little kids play and loud engines roar through the parking lot late at night. Complimentary breakfast was limited to a grab-bag with muffins, a granola bar, and a fruit cup instead of the hot bar due to the pandemic. They do have complimentary bananas and coffee at all hours which is a plus. There is also a gym, swimming pool, and a laundry room on the premises. With all of the problems I had here, the two stars is primarily for how friendly the employees were during my stay.

Getting settled down after a hectic day of traveling.

If I was able to put NO STARS I WOULD ITS 7am atm I ve been up since 5 , with the noise of the ac going on and off , the sound of water dripping through the thin walls....(like motel 6) the pimping noise alllll day and night- the tv not working from needing new batteries. And the Worst for last waking up at 5 because of the water cooming out of the toilet leaking allll over the restroom
Destroying everything we had on the restroom floor....... We spoke to a gentleman that worked here he said " oh this happens often"
But the manager, ClAudia said well since your family booked with Expedia we can't do anything!!! She was so rude, very unprofessional, no smile not friendly... at alllll!!!! No reassurance of anything. Awful experience.

Word of warning, please do not stay here.

It was not by choice we came here, our property management chose this place during fumigation.

We arrived on time for check-in at 3pm, our room faces the Jeep dealership which is noisy. There was no breakfast as we found out. However, they advertised having breakfast. We entered our non-smoking room and it smelled of smoke. Manager put us into another room and it took about 1.5 hours to finally get into our room. Smelled of chemicals and there is no way to get fresh air or air out the room because you Are Unable to open the windows.

Next day we made a choice to do an early check out due to the smell, unclean floors, people who smoke outside the smoke would come into the room.

Fortunately Expedia honored our request and manager Marisa was not helpful. The front desk person name Yoli were rude especially, didn't want to write her name down or give me a pen. She was defensive.

Overall there is No customer service here. Not a clean place, curtains are like a net capturing the dust for many years. We cleaned the floors with wipes and it was filthy.

Look at other reviews of this place. It's deplorable, horrible and the people who work at the front desk are rude. There is no customer service.

WORST PLACE I have ever stayed at! Unfortunately, it wasn't my choice since it was booked by the military. Rooms smell musty and lack good ventilation. The windows are old and you can hear every single noise from the outside. The mattresses are hard and the man that works at the front desk is rude and not helpful at all. It was 5:20 AM here in San Diego and I was trying to check out. The government credit card declined; therefore I had to call the card so they could authorize the charge; however; it is a requirement for the government credit card representative to speak to the merchant to authorize the charge and the hotel's front desk representative by the name or "John" or "Dylan" (whoever was working by 5:42 on 08-01-2023, when the government CC rep answered), REFUSED to speak to the credit card representative and therefore, now I have to waste MY time, to be even later to work and drive all the way back to the hotel just because "he ain't doing that". I have never stayed in such a crappy hotel with horrible customer service. Also, it seems like the front desk representative, tried to lie about his name because he said one name when he answered, and another after I asked for his name once he refused to help. I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE EVER AGAIN AND ESPECIALLY
NOT FOR PERSONAL TRAVEL. IF YOU ATE IN THE MILITARY, STAY AWAY!!!!!
