My family worked with Brendan Flynn of South Coast Commercial Real Estate when we needed to sell a home in Carlsbad. I emailed many real estate agents in the area, and he was quick to respond. While other agents responded and just wanted to talk to us, he immediately did the research to help us determine value and answered all our questions quickly. He even joined a Zoom meeting with the family so we could all ask questions and feel good that he had the knowledge, experience and motivation to get us the best price for the property.
We truly appreciate all Brendan did to help us and make the process as smooth as possible.

Laura of Southcoast Real Estate has refused the return of my security deposit for greater than 90 days since my move out of her property located at 1547 Missouri St in December. Laura insists that the return of my security deposit is dependent on her finding another tenant and that the deposit will be returned through direct pay from the new tenant. This practice is not in accordance with her duties as a property manager in accordance with California state law.
I caution any potential tenant considering entering an agreement with this company.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jim P.Orange, CA0103Aug 4, 2023
They really need some sort of effective property Manager for 4479 1/2 Valeta St.
They NEVER put the trash cans out at the correct day or correct time.
They cannot figure out how to mesh with City pickup dates due to Federal Holidays.
They Block Street parking for the neighborhood constantly.
They Leave the damn trash cans in the street for 6-7 days until the NEXT pickup.
WHO puts them OUT there? Can't THAT guy put them away.
I'm done moving that crap so I can find a parking spot.
Completely lazy neighbors. Worthless.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Waleed S.Newport Beach, CA383Aug 23, 2023
This review is for the SCC103's commercial brokerage division. I got to work with Alexio (Adrian and Brian) who were professional, patient, knowledgeable and very supportive on my transaction. They spent the time needed to walk the property, show comparable listings, evaluate the financials from multiple investment approaches and work to get the best price and terms possible. I recommend this broker. They provide a full turnkey service from buying, selling, renovations and property management. It's very helpful.

Brendon calls me almost monthly to update me on all the commercial properties he has sold--I have told him to STOP CALLING ME FOR YEARS! He doesn't stop. It's super tacky since I have a realtor who has actually called him to tell him to leave me alone, and he wont.
Brendon, this is Meggin. Stop calling me.
Maybe this will stop it?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - C M.San Diego, CA05Mar 20, 2023
After my divorce we SCC purchased my property and my ex wife rented it back from them. I was able to move my items out after she moved out. SCC threw away, damaged and stole more than $10k of my property before I was able to get in to the house. It was written on the contract that they had to wait for me to get my items before beginning the cleaning. The owners just said we don't care we get sued all the time.

If I could select zero stars I would. Totally unresponsive when it comes to repairs. Basically all they do is send you reminders to pay rent days before it's due and raise the rent the maximum the law allows every year with no upgrades or anything. Everything they say is a lie and everything they have is stolen. Totally incompetent managers who will lie to your face with a smile like a sociopath.

If you are thinking of renting a property from this property management RUN !! All I have to say is know your rights as a tenant. You can withhold rent if your apartment is uninhabitable. Which most of the properties of SCC are. They could care less about there tenants. If they try and keep your deposit take them to court. Take your proof, have a paper trail, screenshot texts with managers. Have EVERYTHING documented!!When you win they may have to pay double the deposit amount and your fees acquired for taking them to court. Someone got stabbed at our complex, we have a roach infestation because of other tenants. I have receipts for years hit me up if you want to see them. Laura is a joke always saying she's on vacation or is too busy to bother with Propety management stuff. Since I have lived here there have been 5 managers. The last one left bc of shady stuff going on. No wonder no one wants to claim this dumpster fire is an embarrassment of a company.

I can't speak for all their property managers but dealing with Brenda was about as unprofessional as it gets.
After submitting an application through their site I was contacted. Brenda asked if I could meet her at the property in 45min. First I agreed but contacted her right away to let her know I wouldn't be making it and needed to reschedule. The viewing seemed rushed and sudden.
She stopped responding and her next text was it was rented. A day passed and she asked if I wanted to schedule a viewing. I responded with a few additional times. She never responded.
After viewing their site I realized the property was not available. I have asked for a refund of the application.
This is probably a blessing in disguise. Imagine being a tenant and trying to get something fixed. The entire exchange was unprofessional and other than her initial offer, she made no attempt in rescheduling and seemed like she didn't know if the place was rented or not.
Good luck!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
