I checked in originally for two nights and was okay with the rates+$100 deposit.
I decided to extend my stay for one more night to hang with family a bit more so I called and asked what the rates were for the night... they said it was $59.50. So I said go ahead and charge my card over the phone.

Days later, I'm waiting for my $100 deposit... decided to call and they said that my $100 deposit was applied with the $59.50 and the nights rate was $159.50.

They lied about the night rates being $59.50 and kept my $100 deposit.

They then said they can only refund roughly $30.

I'm going to need my entire refund not some lousy $30.

I wouldn't be surprised if the employees or managers there are stealing $100 deposits from guests and wiring it to themselves. Do not trust this motel, they're thieves.

      I still don't have my $100.

... First off I'm pretty laid back with fair standards, but this is inexcusable. We booked through Expedia so we got a good deal. I'll circle back to this later. They were shown as an Expedia Recommended Vendor too.

1st night checking in - None of the electronics in the room worked and the fridge was previous broken so there was water all over (next morning someone was in the room already). We got moved to a new room. Even though it's pet free and smoke free both rooms red eked of smoke and pet smell. Dogs 100% in both rooms have scratched the walls and chewed the trim.

2nd day - a few ants but we wanted to give the benefit of the doubt.

3rd day - room was completely infested with ants. They were seriously coming up from the floor, trim board, sink and shower. They got in our clothes and travel items. They were all over the bed. The worker refused to move us because "nothing was available", but when he saw us shaking our sheets out he magically had a room. Room smelled like per and had graffiti in the bathroom... like seriously, what the hell?! Completely ruined our next day.

4th day - sink doesn't drain, shower is moldy, shower doesn't get hot and room stinks. But... these rooms are more maintained (we've got moved to the back/west side of the building. Trim boards have been replaced, no rusty metal racks or tissue covers... I'm not dumb, the back is 100% for full paying customers and the front is for the 3rd party customers.

They refused a refund... I'm not mad about the ants on the floor. I'm mad it was so bad they got in our stuff and took a day of our vacation. That's inexcusable. I'm complaining to Expedia when I leave in a couple of days to get a refund. If not I'm just going to dispute it with the bank.

Do not book with this hotel! Horrible customer service! I been trying to get a refund for my horrible experience with their unclean hotel that does not have housekeeping at normal business hours! I can't not stress enough! DO NOT STAY HERE! Pictures online make it look clean but the room had a super old musky smell the towels where yellow stained and super dusty! The mattress was super stained! And the mattress looked like it was 50yrs old! The mini fridge was broken and dirty! Their was dust all over the floor! And trying to get a refund for the nights I didn't stay has been horrible the have horrible customer service!

Just thought I'd leave a review while everything was still fresh in my mind. Had to stay down here for work. Check in was easy and fast. Room I got was clean, didn't smell like smoke, WiFi worked great, easy access on the first floor, and everything worked inside the room. This is a 5 star review and yes this motel is older but we aren't comparing it to the 4 seasons or a Hilton. For what I paid for I was pleasantly surprised (it was a cheap rate). I read the reviews before coming and was kind of expecting the worst. Only gripe is towels weren't there when I got into the room so had to go the front desk and the walls need paint. And ya it's not the greatest of neighborhoods but I never felt unsafe around here.

I still give it 5 stars though, mostly due to the excellent service provided by Jay the front desk agent. Great job!

I came here to stay for one night again and before booking my reservation I made a note to let them know if I can stay on the first floor and I need a room that is clean and a room that is done remodeling. I am very disappointed on how dirty this place is and I know the fact they are remodeling this place they should shut the hotel and finished the remodeling this place before letting people stay here.

This place is dirty and the restroom is not clean . The room smells like shit .

I was down here a couple of weeks ago for Comic-con San Diego and I'm really trying to be fair with my review.

Alright, some honesty- it's in a really weird part of town, so you should expect some lower standards, and if you're looking for luxury, then you need to make your way more toward downtown San Diego. We got what we paid for, and it wasn't much. Staff up front was nice enough. But...

It doesn't mean that management or staff should settle for those lower standards. I've been reading some of the reviews and pictures of some of the conditions of the rooms at this establishment, and needless to say, they were correct in their assessments, and two years later- the markings on the walls for "renovations" are still present. The spackle and primer where paint should be is probably the same stuff I'm seeing in some pictures of this place from 2016.

And it's not like this place has years of downtime. I've talked with front desk staff and they've sold out on rooms for Comic Con events in past. That's revenue/profit that could've been used for those 2-3 year renovations.

I'm saying that responding to comments about problems is one thing. And it looks like for every bad review, the management responds. But after hearing the same thing for 2-3 years, and I walk in and see what everyone was talking about: this just screams red flags and problems systematic beyond what a few dabs of paint and a power tool could ever fix. Yeah, you hear folks out who have issues with your hotel, but do you act? Is it going to be another 2-3 years before someone finally gets some renovations done?

Oh, and the complaints about bugs being in the rooms was an accurate assessment by past lodgers as well. I found a few crawling by the hanger rack. I can imagine what would've crawled out of the woodworks if we brought out any food.

This place is super dirty and gross. I'm cringing at the thought of staying another night but it's too late to cancel my reservation. I would go complain to the front desk but this is the last downstairs room which I need because I'm disabled and can't carry luggage up stairs. The room stinks like that cheap 99 cent store cleaner and yet it's still extremely filthy. The floor is filthy. Wasn't swept or mopped. Water spots all over bathroom counter indicating is wasn't wiped down. Dirt on the front of the toilet indicating that wasn't clean either. Sink is rusted and reeks of mold. I hope the maids at least changed the bedding and didn't just remake the bed.

Air conditioner is located in a place that makes it impossible to use. I climbed on the bathroom counter but couldn't see the knobs to know what I'm doing. I feel like I'm gonna fall and break my neck dealing with it. Hardly any toilet paper and no back up roll. The hair dryer is broken, filthy, and looks like it once caught on fire.

The worst thing is THE FLIES. Oh god this room is INFESTED with flies. I thought they were dirt specks but I left and when I came back they were flying around. They stationed themselves back on the walls when I was around. I went on a killing spree. I got at least 20 of them and there are STILL more. Where are they coming from. I don't want to lug all my stuff into another room that likely will have the same issues. I'll just chalk this up to "lesson learned". If you are going to go cheap, stick to a bigger name chain because they usually have better quality control.

NO STARS! I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy thats how horrible it was.
The one night that I was there the lights went out, all night. They didnt turn back on until early in the morning. When we tried to speak to management since we were unhappy with this issue they said it was out of their hands and they couldnt do anything about. So not only did they not care, they didnt even try to make it seem like they did.
Secondly, right outside of the room I was in (which was right next to managements office) there was a group of rowdy old folk being obnoxious with a microphone speaker telling everyone to wake up the whole morning, he did this for hours nonstop and was blasting music drinking in their cars. Management did not say one word to the group the whole time. By my check out time they were still there making the same noise.
I would have liked my issue to be resolved with a discount / an extra night to make up for my shitty one, but due to that staying an extra day wasnt worth it at all.
Plus they call themselves a hotel but ive had better experiences at motels. They look like a motel anyway. Upon check in they ask for a $100 deposit, but dont mention that till you get there.
Also our tv didnt even work.
Dont even waste your time here
Go to the motel 6 few doors down.
      Wish i had.
